Mr. Jones has resided in Gainesville Florida for the past 36 years where he is a tenured professor of theatre at Santa Fe College. While employed at that institution for the past twenty-seven years he has directed eighteen productions, including five world premieres. He is committed as a theatre artist to creating original works using object theatre, mixed media, masks, and puppets, that make a difference in the human condition. He has been associated with the Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville where he has performed in over 40 professional productions since 1979. He has been the director of the acting company- “The Leading Edge Theatre”- since 2005 a part of the Executive Education Department at the University of Florida in which theatre is used to train leaders at the corporate level. He has also directed a number of film and video projects including “Too Late To Wait”- a campaign about teen pregnancy in the state of Florida, and “We’re All In This Together”, a promotional video for Santa Fe College and the League for Innovation. Mr. Jones has appeared in over thirty television and print ads for such clients as Goodings Supermarkets, General Motors, Coca Cola, Standard Brands, and Cannon Mills. Film and television credits include Miami Vice, A Flash of Green, Coastlines, and Waterways. Mr. Jones is a member in good standing of Actors Equity (41 yrs.), SAG/AFTRA (29 Yrs.), and Theatre Communications Group. He is listed in “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” as a tenured professor of theatre at Santa Fe College.
