Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park and the Stephen Foster Citizens Support Organization, is preparing to illuminate the park with holiday lights once again! The 2017 Festival of Lights will flip the switch Friday December 1, 2017 and will be ablaze this holiday season until December 24, 2017. The Festival of Lights has grown over the years and has been named a Top 20 Event in the Southeast United States for almost a decade.

Last year was a new beginning for the Festival of Lights and we will continue the rebuilding by constantly working to evolve the Festival, keeping it fresh and enjoyable for all. We are still in the planning and design phase of this year’s Festival but we will still have the well-loved family tradition of the classic Festival of Lights on our Holiday Magic Nights! Featuring free hot cocoa, popcorn, marshmallow roasting, bonfire, craft activities, snow flurries, train display, Gift Shop, music in the Tower and of course Santa! Food Concessions and vendors. $3 per person and children 3 and under are free.

Silent Nights will be weeknights, Monday through Thursday, and is part of our effort to lessen lines and create a more intimate experience for visitors. Load up the family and come enjoy the beautiful light displays at your leisure. We encourage you to park and walk through the lights, spend time with your family, take photos and make memories without the hustle and bustle of our Holiday Magic Nights. The trains will be open on Thursdays and the North Pole Café will be open all week! $2 per person and children 3 and under are free.

If you have been to the Festival of Lights then you have seen the time and love that the Lake City Train Club has put into making the Polar Express a success. With the largest portable train display in North Florida, it is definitely a sight to see and every year new details are added. This year the Polar Express will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights.

As the Festival of Lights has grown so has the demand for extra hands. Park staff and volunteers have been pulling double duty the past few years working hard to make our visitors smile. We are always looking for volunteers to help us out, if you are interested in helping to decorate or volunteering during the Festival please give us a call at (386) 397-2733. We would love to have you!
