To mark the 150th anniversary of the city, the City of Gainesville Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will organize an exhibit of 150 photo self‐portraits by high school students.
Synchronica :: Framing Time is an exhibit of 150 photo portraits of and by young adults (age 14–21) — a glimpse of a moment in time in the lives of young people. Each individual portrait is a piece of the big picture of Gainesville in the early part of the 21st century.
The project is part of Gainesville 150 — The Anniversary, the celebration of the incorporation of the city of Gainesville. The photos will be printed on aluminum and, after the exhibition, will be packed away as a time capsule for 150 years from now.
Synchronica::Framing Time is presented by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department. This project has been funded in part through grants from the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Additional support provided by the Doris Bardon Endowment and Arts Association of Alachua County.
