The Hippodrome is proud to contribute to Gainesville’s Downtown Festival & Art Show weekend with its own magnificent artwork. Be awed by “Loving Vincent,” historic downtown, a blend of musical styles and artwork by 240 gifted artists as part of a nationally ranked festival.
“Loving Vincent” is the world’s first fully painted feature film produced by Oscar-winning studios Breakthru Films and Trademark Films.
The film is a stunning, fully painted animated feature, starring Douglas Booth and Oscar-nominated Saoirse Ronan and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman. “Loving Vincent” explores the life and controversial death of Vincent Van Gogh, told by his paintings and by the characters that inhabit them. The intrigue unfolds through interviews with the characters closest to Vincent and through dramatic reconstructions of the events leading up to his death.
Variety calls it “a one-of-a-kind work of art.”
