Dance Alive’s Next Generation FALL CONCERT always features choreography by its members as well as DANB staff and is eagerly looked forward to by dancers and audience! This year presents a performance that is a special challenge to this talented group of dancers.
Student choreographers include Allison Leonard with a jazz piece Come Alive, Kennedy Monroe (who studied with LINES Ballet this summer) with a contemporary work Le Denier and Sara Gleim and Emi Leon (another dancer who studied with LINES over the summer) with a hot Latin work Me Gusta!
DANB’s Judy Skinner and Julia Ponomareva along with Pofahl faculty member Kimmy Keck have created 4 additional works.
Finally, amazing guest choreographer Brian Carey Chung has created work designed for a professional company. He didn’t hold back anything and the dancers have come through in an amazing way.
Mr. Chung has flown back from San Francisco several times while creating and rehearsing the work, Glorious Matter, in four sections with music by Handel, Caldara and Scarlatti among others.
Former student William Welch will return from North Carolina School of the Arts to perform in the work and will be joined by guest dancer Luana Pinto from Brazil. The work has been rehearsed by DANB Artistic Director Kim Tuttle and DANB Principal Dancer Rachel Ridley
