The Band of Heathens @ Phillips Center

GENERAL PUBLIC TIX ON SALE JUNE 23
UF STUDENT TIX ON SALE DECEMBER 3

Led by Texas songwriters Colin Brooks, Gordy Quist, and Ed Jurdi, this band fuses Lone Star blues, rock, and soul sounds.

Duende means, “a quality of passion and inspiration.” It’s also the title of The Band of Heathens’ fifth studio album. The title was chosen to emphasize the group’s collective search for connection and communion in a technology-fueled world increasingly splintered, distracted, and lonely.

The term “Americana” could have been invented to describe The Band of Heathens’ approach, which has mutated almost as much as the genre. With a discography that lives up to the high ideals of the band, their journey has been marked by stylistically diverse efforts, always taking a leap beyond the last. Their arsenal of songs is filled with Southern rock, stoned soul, heartland country, and all points between.
