Auditions for The Nutcracker, Dance Alive National Ballet, and the student company, Next Generation are happening on Saturday, August 20.
Artistic Director Kim Tuttle will be casting for selected roles in Dance Alive National Ballet’s 2022-2023 productions as well as The Nutcracker. Directors of the student group, Next Generation, will select members for the 2022-2023 company. Dance Alive welcomes dancers from surrounding counties, studios and gyms. Those auditioning should arrive 30 minutes before the audition in order to complete paperwork and receive their number.
• For girls, black leotard, pink tights, and appropriate shoes with hair up.
• For boys, white t-shirt, black tights, shorts or bicycle pants and appropriate shoes.
• For acrobats, appropriate clothing.
REQUIRED: Those auditioning must be seven years old minimum and have ballet experience.
1 – 2 p.m. (Age 7-9): Audition for The Nutcracker (Soldiers, Party Children, Franz’ friends, and Mice) and Next Generation.
2 – 3 p.m. (Age 10-12, Pointe I/II/III, Pointe experience required for girls): Audition for The Nutcracker (Party Children, Franz’ friends, Clara’s friends, young adults, Mice, and Angels) and Next Generation.
3 – 4 p.m. (Age 12-17, Pointe IV/V, Pointe experience required for girls): Audition for The Nutcracker (Franz’ friends, Clara’s friends, young adults, Mice, Angels, Snowflakes, and Act II corps), Next Generation, and Dance Alive National Ballet.
4 – 5 p.m. (Age 7-18): Audition for Mother Ginger’s tumblers. Must be able to do splits, headstands, front and back walkovers, and aerial tricks.
