Wax Wings
Wax Wings is an original folk/jazz/alt-country-inspired sextet from Gainesville, featuring Brian Turk on upright bass, Andrew Cook on fiddle, Nicholas Caputo on accordion, Aaron Williams on tuba, Mike Dorsey on drums, and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Chelsea Carnes. Wax Wings draws on a variety of influence ranging from folk-punk to classical. Carnes captivates with relatable lyrics and compelling vocals, supported by an eclectic mix of some of Gainesville’s finest musicians and distinctive instrumentation. The results are sincere compositions that both inspire and haunt. The band’s wide appeal has seen them playing a wide range of venues including Gasparilla Music Fest, The Florida Folk Festival, and Gainesville’s Fest.
