Dance For Life: Suicide Awareness Gala Event

“We are thrilled to have such incredible talent performing and attending Florida’s first Dance for Life Suicide Awareness Gala Event’, stated founder Kristin Barlow.
According to Barlow, “Dance for Life’s mission is to bring awareness to suicide and its root causes, implement preventive programs and events, eliminate the stigma of mental health and increase access to mental health resources through dance and performing arts”.

The day will be filled with classes and workshops followed by the Gala performance at 7 PM at the Phillips Center. Dance Alive National Ballet Principal Dancers Rosemary Deiorio, Tales Ribeiro, and Andre Valladon will be guesting for the performance along with Anthony Curley from So You Think You Can Dance.

Mr. Valladon will be teaching a ballet and variation master class from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Stephen O’Connell Center followed by a scholarship opportunity from 11:30 to 11:45 and a meet and greet from 11:45 to 12:00.

Mr. Curley will teach a contemporary class from 2-4 at the O’Connell Center followed by a scholarship opportunity from 4-4:15 and a meet and greet from 4:15 to 4:30.

Marissa Arnone, a UF Graduate and member of The Squad at the World of Dance, will head a Wellness Workshop from 1-2 at the O’ Connell Center.
